We love Gary’s work and are so happy to have him join our family here at Cottage Coastal Store, Inc. Gary has a degree in Art Education and taught art for six years. He is currently entering his twenty first year at Morning Star Design. After managing a display department for a clothing retail chain, he decided to start his own business when his daughter was born. He wanted to work at home while she was growing up. Since she always woke up at the first break of light, he nicknamed her “Morning Star”. It seemed like a good name for his company. As he learned more moving along in life, his perceptions also changed in his work and has evolved to its current state. From his very first design to the most recent piece he has done, his work continues to be a work in progress.

All of his pieces are original designs and hand carved with a knife. They are also hand lettered, making each piece truly one of a kind. Gary uses Northern White Pine to create his work with a distressed antique finish. Sizes are approximate. All designs are weather resistant with an exterior paint and stain. It is not recommended to apply any other coating as it may affect the finish.

As his pieces are custom made, please allow 5-10 business days for your piece to ship. Morning Star Designs’ custom orders may not be returned unless defective or damaged during shipment. ALL Morning Star Design orders are charged upon placement of order.
