Malie (mah-lee-ay) Kauai honors their roots on the Garden Isle of Kauai by using only indigenous Hawaiian flora to create an extraordinary line of all natural luxury spa products. The lush wet rainforests of Kauai offer the purest and most fragrant flowers in the world, delicate and water-rich, so they distill them through a unique process into hydrosols, gentle floral waters that contain every element of the plant at the molecular level. The Founders

Husband and wife team, Shaun and Dana Roberts moved to the lush Garden Island after building successful sales and marketing careers on the mainland. Their passion for outdoor adventure and the radiant beauty of Kauai captured their imagination. As they reconnected with nature through surfing, sailing and hiking, Shaun and Dana fell in love with their island paradise and soon felt a profound need to give back. They were moved to create a line of distinctly Hawaiian products that would also employ the talented local craftspeople and herbalists. In Shaun's words, "We were inspired by living in this five million year old island garden - the oldest in the chain. The rainforests and fertile volcanic soil - everything is here." The couple studied the local flora and incorporated the hydrosol distillation process in the development of their products. Malie Kauai was born.

The Lotus Symbol

Male Kauai chose a regal, stylized lotus - one of the most beautiful and celebrated flowers in the world - as Malie's symbol. The lotus blossoms in muddy water, sleeps beneath the surface and emerges clean and untouched at dawn. It is revered in ancient cultures as a mystical symbol of long life, honor, good fortune and especially, purity of heart and mind. For it's said that the lotus transforms the dark waters of attachment to float above in enlightened bliss.
